So I was doing the usual, slumped on my bed like a hermit crab trying to find any reason not to work and I actually found one! It’s called Candybar and it basically re-designs your desktop. If you really have enough spare time to do it, it’s pretty easy and looks really cute 🙂
01 Go to google and type in ‘Candybar download’. Follow the obvious link and just download the most recent application (don’t worry it’s safe to download)
02 Once it’s downloaded, open it and click on the ‘organise’ tab (it’s the only tab I actually used)
03 There are already some icons to use integrated in the app but they’re pretty boring so I found all of mine online. It’s really easy, just type the kind of thing you want into google and drag the picture to the desktop (they only work well if they’re png files with a blank background).
04 Add all the icon pictures to a new folder in the drop down menu at the left hand side of the app. Rename the folder whatever you like.
05 Still on the organise tab, click on your folder of icons on the left-hand side. It should now be showing all your apps in the top half of the screen and all the icons you’ve added in the bottom half.
06 To change an app’s icon, simply drag the new icon you want to use (from the bottom half) onto the original app icon (in the top half). If you want to go back to the old icon at any time, just drag the new icon off.
The whole process is really easy – if I haven’t explained it very well then ask any questions you have! 🙂
