Monthly Favourites time has crept up again and I have a few bits to show you this month. I really enjoy doing these in blog format rather than video; I feel like I can talk about a select few things in detail rather than cramming ten things into a video, so everything mentioned in this post is a genuine favourite that has helped me through rainy (and snowy) April.
The first thing I have to show you is the Emie Radio (pictured above). This was actually gifted to me but I wasn’t asked to create any content showing it, I just really wanted to because I feel like it’s amazing value for money and you guys deserve to hear about it. It’s only $43, really tiny and portable but has such a big sound. I’ve been using it pretty much on the daily and I know it’ll come with me on all of my holidays this year. I love the design of it too; it’s made to look like a vintage radio with a modern twist. The controls are foolproof with only one button controlling power and volume, and it comes with a USB lead for charging. Super simple but super effective, I’d really recommend it if things like the Beats Pill are out of your budget.
My top beauty favourite this month has got to be the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Opal. I actually got this in a Becca kit (review coming soon) after falling in love with Champagne Pop, so it’s a miniature version of their full size products but it’ll still last a long time as it’s so pigmented. It’s quite a bit darker than I was expecting as lots of people online had said it was a good one for pale skin; it’s actually quite a bronzey highlight so I’ll probably put it to one side until summer, but that doesn’t mean I’m not still in love with the formula of these products. They’re incredibly glowy and radiant without making you look like you’ve bathed in glitter!
My other beauty-related favourite is something that’s been a favourite for a long time: Crest Teeth Whitening Strips. If you’re a long-time viewer of my YouTube channel or reader of my blog you might remember my love affair with these a couple of years ago. They were the sole product that turned my teeth from yellow to white and have lasted two years before I feel like I need to top them up again. I got these shipped over from the U.S. and you can get them in the U.K., but I’d be careful if you’re not buying them from America as I’ve seen some fakes floating around here. If you do manage to get your hands on some they will honestly do wonders for your teeth in such a short amount of time and I can’t recommend them enough. A video all about how I whiten my teeth will be up next Sunday.
My fashion favourite for April is hands down this Topshop shirt dress; it’s perfect for transitioning from winter to spring and the colour makes it really versatile. This can so easily be dressed up or down and it’s suitable for any event, I can’t wait to wear it more when the weather gets a bit nicer. It was so embarrassingly creased that I didn’t take a full length shot of it, but you can check it out in this video. I’m not a huge dress-wearer but this has converted me, I feel so comfortable in it and it’s definitely one of those pieces that instantly makes it look like you put way more effort into your outfit than you really did.
My random favourite for the month is the TV show The Walking Dead. It’s one of the only shows I’ve somehow managed to avoid spoilers for and after reading so many rave reviews, I finally decided to start watching it. If gore/zombies aren’t your thing I can’t really see how this would appeal to you at all but I’ve just finished season one and I’m already completely hooked – it won’t be long before I’ve finished. My only complaint is that it’s not on Netflix so I can’t binge guilt-free, but maybe that’s a good thing.
What are your favourites this month?
